Arvo Pärt’s setting of the St. John Passion has become a classic and popular example of music based on biblical texts. Here the gospel narrative – the ‘Via Dolorosa’ describing Christ’s journey to his death at Calvary – speaks with powerful freshness through an intimate instrumental and vocal ensemble. The line-up of performers includes Galway’s most well-known players, alongside some of the brightest young Irish singers emerging on the European scene.
