‘St. Pats Lockdown Olympics’ is a co-creation project between the students and teachers from two classes in St. Patrick’s National School and artists James Riordan of Brú Theatre and Darren O’Donnell, Artistic and Founding Director of Mammalian Diving Reflex. Together, they will create and compete in a zany Olympic competition between classes.
From their homes in Galway and Melbourne, James and Darren will create a whacky series of four weekly videos, accompanied by props delivered to the students’ homes, to guide them through the creation of their own spectacularly zany sports. Each week students will earn points for the weirdness, creativity and ‘sportiness’ of their sport. At the end of the 4 weeks the class with most points will win the ‘St Pats Lockdown Olympics’.
The first week will begin on Monday the 22nd of February and continue through to the end of March when winners will be announced!
