Connecting the Dots is an intergenerational Small Towns Big Ideas project connecting primary school children with older generations through Music and Art.

The project is presented by Ballinasloe Active Retirement Association, the Galway Music Residency with its resident artists ConTempo Quartet and artist Finbar McHugh, Ballinasloe Library and students from Scoil Uí Cheithearnaigh and Scoil an Chroí Naofa.

Through a number of facilitated workshops with ConTempo Quartet and Finbar McHugh, the participants worked together to create visual representations of their collective experience of the quartet’s performances.

The results of this project will be exhibited at Ballinasloe Library  from Thursday, 16 May as part of Bealtaine Festival. The exhibition launch will include a short film documenting the project, a public post-show discussion to include younger and older participants, artists, facilitator and artist, and a short performance from ConTempo Quartet.
