In April 2020 the 12th edition of the Japanese Film Festival Ireland (JFF Ireland) will visit Galway. Once again Ireland’s only truly national film festival will bring the best of contemporary Japanese cinema to multiple locations across the country and provide Irish people with an insight into Japanese life and culture.

To celebrate Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture, JFF Ireland will return to the west with an expanded and enhanced film programme. One highlight of the Galway programme will be a series of films celebrating Japanese female talent across various art forms, including features about renowned artist Yayoi Kusama and samisen performer Chikuzan Takahashi, the first female musician to inherit the Chikuzan name, amongst others.

Join us for exclusive screenings and Irish premieres of Japanese films, alongside Q&As with special Japanese guests.

Visit the Japanese Film Festival Ireland’s website for updates.
