Galway 2020 in association with Galway Public Libraries presents Margaret Atwood.

Our special guest for Galway 2020 International Women’s Day is the world renowned Margaret Atwood. Her The Handmaid’s Tale has become a symbol of women’s struggle against oppression.

On this important day, Atwood will delve into ‘the inner workings of Gilead and this very strange world we’re living in’ that inspired her extraordinary new book, The Testaments.

Hosted by writer Susan McKay, this unique conversation will span the length of Atwood’s remarkable career, and reveal why, after 34 years, she has returned to The Handmaid’s Tale.
