Festival of Nomadic Cultures.
Running from 10 to 12 October, Misleór is Galway’s inaugural festival celebrating the rich heritage of nomadic cultures.
Over the course of three days the festival, presented by Galway Traveller Movement, will showcase music, art, film, theatre and poetry from nomadic cultures as part of the Galway 2020 Small Towns Big Ideas programme.
Through the lens of creativity and cultural action for change, the festival will evoke important social dialogue about ethnic nomads and the barriers, prejudice and discrimination that they often face.
Events including exhibitions, demonstrations, talks and screenings will take place in various locations around Galway City including The O’Donoghue Centre – NUI Galway, Pálás Cinema and The Spanish Arch. All events are free, with some requiring advanced booking to ensure a place.
