This August, artists Michelle Browne and Rhona Byrne invite young people from west Galway to help us to rethink our relationship with the weather and become associate researchers of WeatherPlay.
WeatherPlay uses the wind and rain to make outdoor play fun in all weathers, and encourages children and young people to be active and creative outdoors on any day of the year. Are you sick of looking out at the rain and not knowing what to do? Do you often find yourself bored on a bad weather day?
Over two days in August we will test out and devise new ways to play with ‘bad’ weather elements. We are looking for eight intrepid explorers, creative inventors and imaginative players aged 10-12. If this sounds like you, ask your adult to sign you up to this two-day programme of research to develop new ways to play outdoors. Be prepared to go outside, no matter what the weather!
Bring some snacks, a bottle of water and your wet gear and be ready to get playfully inventive!
