Arthur Lappin Appointed as Chair of Galway 2020


A leading film and theatre producer for over 30 years, Lappin takes on the role of Chair with immediate effect, following his appointment to the board of Galway 2020 in December.

Arthur brings a wealth of specific industry expertise, he played a key role in producing the bid book during the bid phase for Galway 2020. He has served on the board of more than 30 cultural organisations in film, theatre, dance, opera, education and multi-disciplinary arts centres, positioning him perfectly for this strategically important role.

Arthur has been a major figure in the arts and culture industry for many years, including producing 16 feature films, several TV series and documentaries. He has produced over 20 stage productions in all major Dublin theatres and on tour in Ireland, the UK and Australia. His feature films, which include My Left Foot, The Field, In the Name of the Father and In America, were nominated for 16 Academy Awards and won 4, as well as many other international awards.
