Following the successful European Capital of Culture Network meeting in Galway last week, hosted by Galway 2020, an exciting open call focused on creating collaborations across Europe has just been announced.
Tandem Cultural Capitals is seeking cultural professionals and their organisations from seven European Capitals of Culture (former or future), of which Galway 2020 is one, to develop cross-border collaborations with peers from other participating regions.
For Galway 2020, building international networks and enabling local cultural organisations to work on a European level is an important part of the programme. Tandem Cultural Capitals will bring together cultural professionals to facilitate, renew and strengthen this central dimension of the European Capital of Culture.
The call is open to experienced creative professionals and their organisations based in Galway City or County. Other eligible regions include; Leeuwarden-Fryslân 2018, Rijeka 2020, Eleusis 2021, Novi Sad 2021, Kaunas 2022 and Veszprém 2023.
Throughout 2019, the successful candidates from Galway will identify and experiment with inspiring collaboration ideas and jointly put the European dimension of your Capital of Culture into concrete practice.
Tandem is a series of practical collaboration and internationalisation programmes that offer a pan-European platform for project initiators to develop their skills, innovate established practices and connect to international networks. Tandem builds networks of creative professionals, cultural managers and their organisations and it supports the impact they make on their cities, regions, and Europe as a whole.
