UPDATE

Following the guidance issued by the Government of Ireland on 12 March in relation to new measures to contain Covid-19, National Concert Hall, Dublin and Galway 2020 made the decision to postpone this event.

While National Concert Hall, Dublin and Galway 2020 are extremely disappointed to have made these decisions, public health is our number one priority and we must follow Government advice.

Ticket holders will be contacted directly. Rescheduled date will be advertised.

To the Moon by Laurie Anderson and Hsin-Chien Huang is a 30-minute dreamlike immersive experience that takes us on our own lunar exploration.

Experience being shot out from earth, walk on the surface of the moon, glide through space debris, fly through DNA skeletons and be lifted up onto the side of a lunar mountain before being thrown off again. Set across a series of scenes including ‘Constellations’, which features life forms that are becoming extinct – a polar bear and the honey bee – To the Moon emphasises the transitory as opposed to the fixed. When the viewer looks at the constellations they evaporate in the same way that humans create and erase their worlds.

To the Moon by Laurie Anderson and Hsin-Chien Huang was originally commissioned by the Louisiana Museum in Denmark for their comprehensive 2018 exhibition ‘The Moon: From Inner Worlds to Outer Space’.
